It is very common, and enjoyable, to share research progress and successes, and we learn a lot from this. However, equally it can be insightful to discuss where things aren’t going quite to plan, our roadblocks and difficulties, and sometimes outright failures, so that we can learn, find solutions and move forwards. This Research Workshop is therefore focused on ‘Challenges’, and possible solutions to those challenges. We will start with each Giraffe Team sharing a key difficulty that they are facing followed by Panel /Group Discussions, to garner ideas and suggestions (and possibly sympathy!) from across the Centre. We will then have two further sessions – the first looking at challenges (and solutions) in achieving inter/trans-disciplinary research in the Centre and the second on challenges (and solutions) in achieving transformational change in wildfire research.
