In the Media – fire management in Kenya’s Tsavo region (May 2025)

In collaboration with the African Wildlife Foundation and Taita Taveta Conservancies Association, a project  on fire management in Kenya, led by PhD student Amos Chege Muthiuru, Dr Adriana Ford and Prof James Millington has been featured in multiple news outlets.

The first stage of the project was  workshop (May 2025) with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLC) and wildlife managers, to facilitate knowledge sharing between participants and collect and collate information on IPLC knowledges and fire practices and the effectiveness of current fire management.
